STRUCTURE AND POSITION

• Perimetrium covers from outside.

• Myometrium is central muscular layer

• Endometrium is innermost mucous membrane layer

BLOOD SUPPLY

Fundus of the Uterus gets its blood supply from the branches of the Uterine Artery and respective veins. Lymph from it is drained into Superficial Inguinal Lymph nodes.

FUNCTION

Fundus of the Uterus is usually the place where egg implants.

CLINICAL IMPORTANCE

Fundal Height  is usually measured in pregnancy. It is the length from pubic bone to the top of uterus. It has specific value according to time of pregnancy and any change in length can indicate abnormality in pregnancy, which requires further investigation by Ultrasound etc.
